A demo show, playing back. Press play, pause, and next; the real thing is one click away

What you get

The whole toolkit, one browser tab

Seven things NextTime does that a stopwatch never will.

Timer features

Transport controls: play, pause, reset, previous, next. Time nudges: add or subtract a minute or thirty seconds live. Invert the count direction on the fly. Sound alerts on the console signal warning states and expirations so the operator can keep eyes on the stage. Everything syncs to every connected screen in real time.

  • Play, pause, reset, previous, next
  • ±30s and ±1m nudges, live
  • Sound alerts at yellow, red, and zero

The Timeline

The whole show on one strip, like a video editor: every segment a block as wide as its duration, a time ruler above, and a red playhead that shows exactly where the show is right now. Drag a block to reorder, drag a boundary to trade time, drag the playhead to scrub every connected screen. No scrubbing required to understand it. One glance says what has run and what is left.

  • Duration-true blocks against a real time ruler
  • A live playhead across the whole show
  • Reorder, resize, and scrub by dragging

Segments

Your event is a list of segments, each with a duration. Set the event start time and NextTime computes every start and end time in the schedule. Edit any segment and the change cascades forward through everything after it. Lock any segment and the cascade flows around it, so your hard out stays hard. Auto-advance moves the show from one segment to the next on its own; set it globally and override it per segment where a human should make the call.

  • Start and end times, computed for you
  • Edits cascade; time locks hold firm
  • Auto-advance with per-segment override

Display links

Each display link is a fullscreen 16:9 display. Timer text auto-scales from a phone to a projection wall. Green, yellow, and red warning states signal how much time remains. Options per screen: progress bar, time-of-day clock, and countdown, count-up, or time-of-day display modes. Any link can be password-protected. Display links are unlimited on every plan.

  • Unlimited display links on every plan
  • Countdown, count-up, or time-of-day per screen
  • Password-protect any link

Messages

Send text to any display from the console. Flash it for attention or take it fullscreen. Pick from color presets. Let it expire on a timer or keep it up until you clear it. It is the "wrap it up" sign, without the sign.

  • Flash, fullscreen, or quiet banner
  • Color presets the back row can read
  • Timed expiry, or up until you clear it

Real-time sync

One timer, unlimited devices, all in sync. The console, the confidence monitor, the lobby TV, and the producer's phone are all looking at the same clock at the same moment. It runs in the browser: nothing to install on any of them.

  • The console and every display on the same second
  • Play, pause, or nudge and every screen moves together
  • Runs in the browser, nothing to install

OBS and streaming

Every timer includes an OBS-ready display variant with a transparent background. Add it as a browser source in OBS, Streamlabs, or anything else that renders a web source, and the timer sits over your scene, controlled remotely from any device, without touching the stream mid-show.

  • Transparent browser source for OBS, Streamlabs, and vMix
  • Unlimited overlay sources on the free plan
  • Control it remotely without touching the stream

Stream Deck and Companion

Bind any control action to a physical button. Every event mints a control link whose actions, play, pause, next, previous, add or remove time, and jump to a segment, are plain web links. Drop them onto a Stream Deck or a Bitfocus Companion button and run the show without reaching for a keyboard. The link is the credential: no plugin, no API key, nothing to install.

  • Play, pause, next, previous, and time nudges as web links
  • Works with Stream Deck, Bitfocus Companion, vMix, and OBS
  • No plugin, no API key, nothing to install

FAQ

Feature questions

Can a screen count up instead of down?

Yes. Each display can run countdown, count-up, or time-of-day mode, and the operator can invert direction live.

Do the warning colors change automatically?

Yes. Screens move through green, yellow, and red as the segment runs down, and the console can play a sound at each state.

Can I password-protect a timer?

Yes. Any display link can require a password.

Does audio play on the displays?

Sound alerts play on the operator console. Displays are silent by design so nothing unexpected plays in your room or on your stream.

What do I need to run NextTime?

A modern browser and an internet connection. That is the whole requirements list, on every device involved.

Does the timer work as an OBS overlay?

Yes. Every timer has an OBS-ready display variant with a transparent background. Add its link as a browser source in OBS, Streamlabs, vMix, or anything that renders a web source, and the countdown sits over your scene. You control it remotely, so nothing changes on the stream mid-show.

Can I run it from a Stream Deck or Companion?

Yes. Every event mints a control link whose actions (play, pause, next, previous, add or remove time, jump to a segment) are plain web links. Bind them to Stream Deck or Bitfocus Companion keys and run the show from hardware. The link is the credential, so there is no plugin and no API key to set up.

Is there a limit on events or rundowns?

No. Create as many events as you need on any plan. The Free plan's only limit is segment length, at 10 minutes per segment.
